RODRIGO LEÃO PRESENTS
PIANO PARA PIANO EM FAMÍLIA
THE THREE CHILDREN JOIN THEIR FATHER AT THE TIVOLI BBVA THEATRE
On 7 July 2026, the Tivoli BBVA Theatre in Lisbon welcomes Rodrigo Leão for a very special concert of Piano Para Piano — the project that revealed a new creative side to one of Portugal’s most celebrated composers.
The album, released in 2023 and recorded with his daughter Rosa, was commissioned by the Vila Nova de Cerveira Piano Festival. The challenge led Rodrigo to compose new pieces designed for two pianos, opening up unexpected territory in his creative work. ‘I find it interesting that I, who have no training as a pianist, can establish a dialogue with those who have studied and seriously study the instrument,’ he explained at the time.
This dialogue began with Rosa and quickly expanded to the stage, where, in subsequent concerts, his other children joined the project.
At the Tivoli, this encounter takes on a new form: Rodrigo Leão takes to the stage accompanied by his three children — António, Rosa and Sofia — in a concert that celebrates not only the repertoire of Piano Para Piano, but also the artistic and family complicity that brings it to life.
Between the composer’s boundless imagination and the hands of those who have dedicated themselves to studying the piano for years, the intimate gesture of creation becomes sharing.
Live, Piano Para Piano ceases to be just an album and becomes a living portrait of a family that listens to and finds itself through music.
