Rodrigo Le\u00e3o\u2019s new single\u00a0\u201cWho Can Resist\u201d, featuring vocals and lyrics from the\u00a0Lambchop\u00a0frontman\u00a0Kurt Wagner, is released on July 23rd. After\u00a0\u201cFriend of a Friend\u201d, it\u2019s the second single from his new album\u00a0A Estranha Beleza da Vida, scheduled for release in October through BMG and already available on presales.<\/div>\n

\u201cWho Can Resist\u201d\u00a0is a good example of the careful voice casting Rodrigo seeks for many of his albums: the selection of singers who fit the \u201ccharacters\u201d created for the story each song or each album creates. For this new single, Rodrigo was looking for a voice he could identify himself with, like an \u201calter ego\u201d. \u201cKurt Wagner\u2019s deep voice jumped out at me instantly. He kindly accepted our invitation to write the lyrics and sing, it was a real privilege.\u201d<\/div>\n
<\/div>\n
\u201cWho Can Resist\u201d<\/strong>\u00a0appeared first in the Summer of 2020, during Rodrigo\u2019s lockdown with his family, \u201cwhile waiting for our family dinners\u201d. \u201cWhen it wasn\u2019t my turn to cook, I\u2019d sit at the piano for a while and felt very happy that we could all be there together and not feel the time slipping away from us.\u201d It\u2019s a happy, free song, just like the album it is a part of:\u00a0\u201cA Estranha Beleza da Vida\u201d,<\/strong> a record Rodrigo describes as being \u201cabout the freedom of being able to create without borders, without limits.\u201d<\/div>\n

As with the previous single\u00a0\u201cFriend of a Friend\u201d<\/strong> and with the forthcoming album, the artwork is by renowned writer and illustrator\u00a0Afonso Cruz\u00a0and it can be found on all <\/a>leading digital streaming platforms (Apple Music, Spotify and Deezer) from July 23rd.<\/div>\n
